Sound familiar?

Somewhere along the way, sport got serious.

"I don't want to go tonight."

Tears before club night, and a child who used to love running around.

Picked last. Again.

Waiting on the side for a go, worried about letting the team down.

The screen wins every evening.

You don't want to force it. You just want them to want to move.

FunActive is the hour of the week that's just for fun. They'll leave hot, tired and grinning, and ask when they're going back.

The FunActive rules

Three rules. No exceptions.

1

Nobody gets picked last

We make the teams. Mixed ability, mixed friends, every single time.

2

No shouting at mistakes

Got it wrong? Brilliant. Go again. Mistakes are part of the game here.

3

Nobody sits out

Caught? Do a quick task and you're straight back in. No long queues for a go.

The skills are hidden in the game: SpeedAgilityBalanceCoordinationPowerEnduranceFlexibility
Why they keep coming back

Built like their favourite video game.

Games know how to keep children coming back. So we borrowed their best ideas and put them on the court.

30

Short, quick goes

Challenges in 20–60 second bursts. Lots of goes, instant results, no waiting.

PB

Beat your own best

The only person they're racing is last week's version of themselves.

Γ—2

Mystery rounds

Mystery challenge cards, golden-ball rounds and power-ups. Nobody knows what's next.

Mr Warren
Why I'm starting FunActive

Hi, I'm Mr Warren.

I've coached children for 14 years in more than 50 primary schools. Too often I see sport turn serious: children pushed to improve every week, shouted at for a mistake, waiting on the side for a go. Then they stop enjoying it, and the sofa wins.

FunActive started at our Compass holiday camps, as a 15-minute coaches' challenge at break time. It became the part children talk about most. They ask for it. They'd play for an hour if we let them. So now they can.

Home Quest 1

Sock Ball Showdown

  1. Roll 5 pairs of socks into balls. Put a laundry basket on the floor.
  2. Stand two big steps away. You've got 30 seconds to get as many in as you can.
  3. Write down your best score. Next round, beat it.

Level up: score 3 in a row? Take one step back.

Questions

Good questions parents ask.

Who is FunActive for?

Every child from EYFS to Year 5. The child who loves sport but wants one session a week that's just fun, the child who's lost their love for it, and every child in between. In our test sessions, a boy who plays football at a high level and a girl who does no sport at all both loved it.

My child gets nervous at new clubs. What happens on the first night?

Every session starts and finishes the same way, so children know what's coming. I greet every child by name. If they're not sure, they can watch for a minute and join in when they're ready. Nobody is ever put on the spot.

Is it just play? Will they actually learn anything?

Yes, they just won't notice. Every game is built around coordination, balance, speed, power, agility, endurance and flexibility, using throwing, catching, kicking, jumping, hopping and turning. They'll leave hot, tired and better at moving.

How much does it cost?

Early Access families get a founding rate, locked in for as long as their child keeps coming. We'll share the price with the list before booking opens, so you'll know everything before you decide.

What do they need to bring?

Trainers, comfy clothes and a water bottle. That's it.

Does joining the list mean I've booked?

No. Joining is free and doesn't commit you to anything. It gets you first pick of the 72 places, 48 hours before booking opens to everyone else.

72 places. Early Access picks first.

Join free in 30 seconds. You'll get first pick, the founding rate and a Home Quest every Saturday.
